A Life Defined by Resilience, Captured in Light and Ink

"I’m John Murray, a writer and photographer based in Swansea. My journey here hasn’t been a straight line; born in Paisley Scotland and raised in Plymouth England, I navigated an abusive upbringing that shaped me in ways I am still putting into words and images today.

For the last 20 years, I’ve built a life I’m proud of here in Wales alongside my beautiful partner. We have five children three girls and two boys who are the heartbeat behind everything I do. They are my constant reminder of how far I’ve come and why I keep creating.

Writing and photography are how I make sense of the world. My books and my photos are reflections of that journey from the shadows of the past to the light of the life I’ve built with my family. I believe that even the hardest stories deserve a beautiful ending, and I’m grateful to share mine with you."
